Practice Safe Driving During the Holidays

The holidays are a wonderful time to spend with family and friends, and it’s also a time when many people are traveling to see loved ones. It’s important to review safety tips to protect yourself and those around you. Distracted driving is a greater problem during the holidays—this includes visual, manual and cognitive distractions.

  • Distractions that take your eyes off the road
  • Distractions that take your hands off the wheel
  • Distractions that take your mind off the task of driving

If you are in an area with cold weather, review these nine tips for driving in winter weather. Stay alert and avoid the following activities while driving:

  • Texting and talking on the phone
  • Listening to the radio
  • Eating and drinking
  • Using maps and navigation systems
  • Talking to passengers or grooming
